Torrential Desert Rain in Doha Qatar spoils an Easter Sunday treat for fans of MotoGP and not one place on the Speed TV website with mention of when the rescheduled race (to be held on Monday local time) will air on US Television ! So much for the "Authority"
If you know the TV time, in the US, or if you'd like to contribute your local motorcycle racing telecast times so I can put up a WORLD Motorcycle Racing TV schedule, let me know and I'll publish it here.

Finally in April MotoGP Championship returns to us with so many great changes including our Nicky Hayden on a factory Ducati alongside Australian former champ Casey Stoner, all in an attempt to challenge the re-throned king of motorcycle racing, Valentino Rossi. But there's more to Motorcycle Racing than Moto GP - There's the local Superbikes as well. including World, AMA (USA) and British Superbikes to fill our Sunday afternoons with glee, and hopefully get the insanity off our chests so we can go out and ride like normal human beings on our beloved bikes. So get the Akrapovich off the snowblower, dust off the couch, set the DVR, and do whatever else you do (we all have strange good luck rituals before watching our favorites do their stuff, just as they do themselves. He writes to say that he covers most motorsport events in and around Indianapolis and is happy to hear from anyone, media or racing team, who needs a photographer to cover their event.
I was very impressed with Eric's work, given the lousy light conditions out there for the Inaugural MotoGP at Indianapolis event at the Brickyard.

OK. after the success of my recent entry about Motorcycle Helmets (Nolan N102 flip-up Modular helmet), I've realized there's a lot of folks out there looking for crash lids, for themselves for motorcycle related stocking stuffers, or at least looking to look at crash lids online. So I went "window shopping" and the nicest one I could find, well today, at least, and, yes, again, Daddy wants this for Christmas, was the AGV Limited Edition Rossi GP-Tech Dreamtime Replica Helmet. This is a replica of the Helmet Valentino Rossi wore at the Sky Australian MotoGP 2007 at Phillip Island Circuit (see my travel guide to the fantastic historic place and its wonderful museum, if you're headed there in October... see you there.). Oh, yeah, the helmet... it boast the usual Rossi Day-glo yellow, his famous racing number 46 on the chin, but with the trademark Rossi sun and moon design reinterpreted via Australian Aboriginal inspired Dreamtime graphics. The Multiple MotoGP World Champion (at every level of Grand Prix racing) is well known for mixing it up with his gear and his bike designs (I loved his Austin Powers livery). This limited edition replica racing helmet (only 300 exist, as I read it, and accurate in every detail - technical and graphical) is on my list of motorcycle stuff I want.

The helmet retails at £429.99 British Pounds, which converts to about $850 USD. Convert to other currencies here. Which might seem a lot to pay, unless you really want to impress your dad with how good he was all year. :)

This Provisional Calendar for the FIM 2009 MotoGP World Championship was released 07/28/2008. I've posted a copy of the Schedule with links to hotels near circuits and tickets (where available) More MotoGP is always good news for Motorcycle Racing Fans! Changes for 2009 include the loss of the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai and the incusion of a Hungarian Race at Lake Balaton Circuit (if you know anything about that place, let me know so I can put together a guide for people planning a trip in that direction. - The schedule is just fresh and of course subject to change. All alterations will be posted on my MotoGP Dates page at Grand Prix Cities.com .

After many years of trying to beat Laguna Seca, Gazilion time World Champion and one of the best Motorcycle Racing Riders of all time, Valentino Rossi, finally achieved a glorious victory at the 2008 US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca. To Celebrate the wonderful moment the loveable Italian, during his victory lap, got off his #46 Fiat Yamaha MI MotoGP Racer, handed it to a couple of fans to look after, and bent down to kiss the ground at one of the most spectacular places in all of modern motorsport. the Laguna Seca Mazda Raceway turn 8 corkscrew. (It's no old parabolica at Monza Circuit Italy, but hey, it's a big deal). Here's fan video of this moment that will be part of motorcycle racing folklore for many years to come. Not to mention the race itself, which was an absolute gem featuring dicing between Rossi and Australian current Moto GP World Champion Casey Stoner on a Ducati. And an unforgetable moment where a current world champion fell off his bike at like, well, no miles an hour. You can find the video fo that moment yourself at YouTube.com .
