Motorcycle Helmet AGV Rossi Replica

AGV Limited Edition Rossi GP-Tech Dreamtime Helmet

AGV003RossiReplicaDreamtimehelmet OK. after the success of my recent entry about Motorcycle Helmets (Nolan N102 flip-up Modular helmet), I've realized there's a lot of folks out there looking for crash lids, for themselves for motorcycle related stocking stuffers, or at least looking to look at crash lids online. So I went "window shopping" and the nicest one I could find, well today, at least, and, yes, again, Daddy wants this for Christmas, was the AGV Limited Edition Rossi GP-Tech Dreamtime Replica Helmet. This is a replica of the Helmet Valentino Rossi wore at the Sky Australian MotoGP 2007 at Phillip Island Circuit (see my travel guide to the fantastic historic place and its wonderful museum, if you're headed there in October... see you there.). Oh, yeah, the helmet... it boast the usual Rossi Day-glo yellow, his famous racing number 46 on the chin, but with the trademark Rossi sun and moon design  reinterpreted via Australian Aboriginal inspired Dreamtime graphics. The Multiple MotoGP World Champion (at every level of Grand Prix racing) is well known for mixing it up with his gear and his bike designs (I loved his Austin Powers livery). This limited edition replica racing helmet (only 300 exist, as I read it, and accurate in every detail - technical and graphical) is on my list of motorcycle stuff I want.

Here are some of the specs for the AGV Limited Edition Rossi GP-Tech Dreamtime Helmet:

  • Super-light carbon-kevlar construction shell
  • Cool max interior fabric
  • Fully removable and washable interior padding and neckroll
  • Clear, flat, anti-scratch and anti-fog polycarbonate Race X visor with tear-off system
  • Extra quick release visor system, which doesn't require tools
    Double D ring chin strap
  • Integrated ventilation system with channels directly in the helmet shell
  • Valentino Rossi Dreamtime design -Limited to 300 pieces in the UK

I found it at the Moto Legends section of the Grand Prix Legends Store (a UK motorcycle & racing merchandise company - so check the shipping if you're in the US like * my wonderful kids * are, hint, hint) ... Here's the direct product link. Rossi Replica Helmet Grand Prix Legends

The helmet retails at £429.99 British Pounds, which converts to about $850 USD. Convert to other currencies here. Which might seem a lot to pay, unless you really want to impress your dad with how good he was all year. :)

You can check out all Grand Prix Legends MotoGP Racing gear, that includes Merchandise, hats, shirts, racing apparel, helmets, well, the whole shebang, at the Grand Prix Legends Moto Legends site.

Godspeed on all your motorcycle adventures, Cvetko Ostroznik

Motorcycle Helmets Nolan N102

Nolan Helmets. Quality Motorcycle Protection.

2008_Nolan_N102_Solid_N-COM_Helmet_Cab_Yellow
2008 Nolan N102 Solid N-COM Helmet

Usually I write in this blog about stuff I'd like to have. In this case, this helmet, the Nolan N102 N-COM is an updated version of what I already use so it's kind of broadcasting, but also, as always, a suggestion for the wife and other members of the family who are always desperate for what to by the "motorcycle gear blogger who (they insist) has everything". Yes, Daddy wants.

I currently use the N100E Nolan helmet, which is the older version of the N102. Its like this one only without the communications pocket in the side, (which, while I can see how many folks would benefit, I wouldn't use anyway, I hate cell phones and distractions when I'm riding) or the nifty, and this is one reason I'd upgrade (if I didn't get a product REVIEW), sun visor extra shield. I've messed around with the helmet in a store it looks like a great feature. Particularly since I wear glasses and I always seem to forget my sunglasses when I go out riding. The visor flips up out of the way when you don't need it, but handy when you take that left turn into the bright sunshine. Another feature is an improved one touch release for the flip up face. The one I have now has a "smart release" lever on the side, which gets stuck a little, but the new one opens like a charm with a pinch lever system under your chin instead of out to the side. A thumb and forefinger and you're good to chat, eat, have a ciggy, whatever.

If you've never had a flip up helmet (sometimes called Modular Helmet) that opens at the front. I recommend it too. It's great for a quick bite to eat, handy if you get claustrophobic, handy if you stop to talk to someone quickly, like say, to ask quick directions. There aren't nearly as many graphic designs available in flip up but this particular one comes in quite some solid colors, like the yellow one above, and graphic designs. Follow the product link below to see the variety available.

The N-Com system, if I understand it correctly let's you place a bluetooth gadget in the compartment (you can see the compartment in the picture just under the pivot) and this lets you talk via your blue tooth mobile phone to your spouse at home, or if the spouse is on the back, via a two way hook up. Good God, now I'm sure I'd never use this feature! If it came equipped with the phone, there would be no place remaining on earth where I could get away.

I found the helmet on sale at Motorcycle Superstore . The solid colors are reduced from $349USD to $314.00 at time of writing.  Here's the direct link to the product Nolan N102 Solid N-COM Helmet . And as a further bonus, right now, if you jump at the sale, or purchase any product (over a certain amount) using the eBillMe method at Motorcycle Superstore, you'll get a free $20.00 US gas card, which'll make you're cager buddies even more envious of your lifestyle choice.

Nolan is an Italian company and sponsors of riders such as the current MotoGP champion Casey Stoner. I'll be featuring the Stoner replica Helmet in a future article, but you can find it yourself at the Motorcycle Superstore link above. You'll also find any number of accessories for the helmet.

And if you're reading this, fine folks at Nolan, I can't wrap you up any more. I love my Nolan helmet, but I'd be happy to have an updated version (Cab Yellow - like the pic - Large) to, er, review. :)

Godspeed on all your motorcycle adventures, Cvetko Ostroznik.

 Alpinestars Stage Perforated Leather Jacket

Alpinestars_Stage_Perforated_Leather_Jacket_BlackHere's another  Motorcycle Rider's Christmas Gift Stocking Stuffer suggestion list for my wife and family. A personal online accessories wishlist that I'm happy to share. I know another motorcycle won't be under the tree - unless I put it there myself.

I really like this jacket. Not only does it offer the latest in high tech motorcycle jacket technology from the Alpinestars brand. The Alpinestars Stage Perforated Leather Jacket offers off-bike style too. Just dramatic enough to show you've got some style, and make you feel like Batman, but subtle enough not to have mothers hiding their children when you walk in the door after a fashionable scoot around the block.

The 1.2 - 1.4mm full-grain perforated leather means it breathes easier while offering full leather protection while riding, it includes elbow and shoulder reinforcement (optional back protector) and some astounding attention to detail. Fine fine object du moto.

The Alpine Stars Stage Perforated Leather Jacket retails at $399.95US. I found it at Motorcycle Superstore. The direct link is here: Alpinestars Stage Perforated Leather Jacket

Visit the AlpineStars website and check out some more of their fine stuff including gloves, boots, t-shirts and casual accessories and other equipment as used in MotoGP and World Superbike Championship by some of the best motorcycle racing riders in the world.

And if you're reading this, fine folks at Alpinestars, I put one of these on in a gear store once but they didn't have my size. I'd love to review one of these babies! :)

Made of Cabretta leather, they'd be good through early fall. The Bionic Heavy Duty Gloves come in 4 sizes to fit from Small to XXL, in Mens and Ladies sizes.

They retail at $44.99 U.S. I found them at Yardiac.com
